On
Thursday, June 22, 2006, Ms.Dorenda Turner, LACWAP's Treasurer was
recognized by the Louisiana Association of Child Welfare and Attendance Personnel(LACWAP) as the Outstanding Person of the Year. Ms. Turner was
presented the 2006 Wilfred Broussard Award, the highest award given by
the Louisiana Association of Child Welfare and Attendance Personnel, for
her outstanding service to the Louisiana Association of Child Welfare &
Attendance Personnel and children of Louisiana. The Wilfred Broussard
Outstanding Person of the Year award is a very prestigious award and
gives recognition to Louisiana Supervisors of Child Welfare and
Attendance who have shown outstanding service in the performance of
their jobs as a Supervisor of Child Welfare and Attendance, and
recognizes their outstanding service to the Louisiana Association of
Child Welfare and Attendance Personnel.
The International Association for Truancy and Dropout Prevention (IATDP)
recognizes the importance of Child Welfare and Attendance Supervisors in
the prevention of truancy and school dropouts; and therefore, wishes to
recognize Ms. Turner for her outstanding service in the state of
Louisiana. Ms. Turner has been a good role model during her years as
Child Welfare and Attendance Supervisor. We recognize Ms. Turner's
service to the state of Louisiana and wish to congratulate here for
receiving the 2006 Wilfred Broussard Outstanding Person of the Year.
