The Louisiana Association of Child Welfare and Attendance Personnel will hold its 2008 Winter Conference in Shreveport, Louisiana, June 17-20, 2008. The Association wishes to invite all personnel who work with Child Welfare and Attendance or with dropout prevention, truancy, discipline, and/or behavior concerns. Child Welfare and Attendance Supervisors, Attendance Officers, Hearing Officers, TASC Employees, Social Workers, Home School Coordinators, Safe and Drug Free Schools Coordinators, FINS Coordinators, Families in Need of Services Personnel, and anyone who works with similar programs designed to assist students are urged to attend this conference.

A Summer Conference Agenda is attached. Please encourage your staff members to attend this enlightening conference. The informative topics presented will be beneficial to all attendees and to school systems throughout the state. Anyone who works with school age students and their parents are encouraged to attend. The LACWAP was formed to provide a forum for the sharing of ideas and experience between Louisiana Public School personnel who are responsible to the public to insure that children attending public schools meet the legal attendance requirements and that students are provided a safe, non-threatening learning environment.

The summer conference is around the corner and this is the official “all call” for door prizes.  Everyone looks forward to our giving away a little something at the end of the sessions.  The more door prizes we have, the more fun for everyone.  I hope you will bring something for us to add to the door prizes.
