LLOYD J. CLARK

2007

Mr. Lloyd Clark was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and educated in the public school system of Jefferson Parish. After graduating from high school he entered Southern University of Baton Rouge and graduated in 1970 with a degree in Political Science and minors in Social Studies and English. He earned a masters degree in Administration and Supervision at Nicholls State University in 1978. He is a military veteran and he has worked for the Social Security Administration in Kansas City, Missouri. Mr. Clark has been employed in the Jefferson Parish School System as a teacher, disciplinarian, counselor, school-based administrator and supervisor of child welfare and attendance for more than thirty-five years.  He and his wife, Claudia, are the parents of two daughters and grandparents of three granddaughters.
He is the Immediate Past President of the Louisiana Association of Child Welfare and Attendance Personnel, a member of the International Association of Child Welfare and Attendance Personnel, Board Member of the Jefferson Parish School Board Employees Credit Union, member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and numerous other social, civic and professional associations. In his Christian life, Lloyd is a member of the Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church of Harvey, Louisiana where he serves on the Board of Deacons and Chairman of the Finance Board.
Mr. Clark has been effective in working with students, parents, school personnel and community agencies. Throughout his professional career in education he has been the link between the school system and the public. He is always willing and able to speak to community groups and associations extolling the virtues of public school education because he believes that all children can learn and all children can succeed and become productive members of society if there is a cooperative linking of students,  parents, teachers, administrators, school board members and community.
